To Every Tribe Ministries:

Christ’s Mighty Grace in 2006

We are so grateful for how the Lord has poured out fresh grace upon To Every Tribe Ministries (TETM) during 2006.  We blazed through this special year simply trying to manage the many unanticipated ministry and missionary training opportunities.

The Center For Pioneer Church Planting

ne

January 9, 2006 was the inauguration of The Center For Pioneer Church Planting (CPCP).  The CPCP is the culmination of 15 years of strategic prayer and planning to establish a gospel launch pad for a new generation of church planters to the remaining unreached regions.  Five full-time missionary trainees studied and learned with us for eight months.  Nearly 40% of the time was spent in on-the-job training gospel exploits throughout Mexico and Papua New Guinea.  On August 23rd we proudly celebrated our first graduating class.

We are now two months into our second year of the CPCP with two families and three single people that are being mentored for cross-cultural mission.

To Every Tribe Ministries

Acquires A Debt-Free Facility

TETM recently purchased an 8-Plex apartment building here in Los Fresnos, TX.  This facility now serves as the TETM office, student housing and CPCP training center.  We are so grateful to all of you who gave so generously with your prayers and financial gifts.  It is our joy to announce that you enabled us to make the final $70,000. payment in late November which makes the facility completely debt-free.  We pledge to use this campus to train and catapult many new gospel laborers into the harvest.

Bethlehem Pastors Conference

Minneapolis, Minnesota

A unique opportunity came during 2006 through the invitation from Dr. John Piper for David Sitton to speak at his annual Pastor’s Conference in Minneapolis.  The Lord gave unusual grace to empower David to issue a strong challenge to the men.  He called upon a tithe of the 1,400 registrants to radically resign their pastorates and redeploy their families among unreached nations.  The Lord empowered both the preaching and those listening - And the response was both immediate and ongoing as more that 125 men expressed their desire to relocate their families among unreached people groups.  A follow-up Summit For The Nations meeting in Texas brought together a number of these pastors who are seeking God’s direction for future ministry.  There are now 5 missionaries working cross-culturally and dozens more in pursuit of adequate training and funding to quickly join the harvest as a result of the Bethlehem Pastor’s Conference.

Note: We have cross-cultural church planters who presently need financial support.  If you’re interested in adopting one of our missionaries to pray, support and partner with in the gospel, let us know and we’ll tell you how to do that.

Papua New Guinea Church Planting Efforts

Move Deeper into the Chambri Swamps

David Sitton and Rod Conner led our CPCP students and several others from the USA and New Zealand on a three week gospel patrol into the Chambri region of Papua New Guinea.  The team was able to encourage Chambri believers and strengthen new relationships with villagers in the more remote areas of Changriman, Paliagwe and Yimbi-Yimbi.  The gospel continues to bear its fruit among New Guinea people groups where the Name of Christ is not yet established.

  Seven New Believers Baptized

In Mezquital, Mexico

The Lord is doing a wonderful thing on the Island of Men!  Three new believers were baptized in March.  Two more believers were baptized in La Poza.  And another two were baptized in the village of Media Luna.

Please pray for our missionaries Steve and Robin Henry and Chris Berger as they live and learn Spanish and Mexican culture in the villages of La Poza and Media Luna.  Pray for their quick proficiency and for the more rapid spread of the gospel to the six locations that TETM is targeting in the Mezquital region.

Additionally, in June and July, TETM returned to these six Mezquital locations with short-term mission teams of over ninety participants each!

Plowing The Ground In La Barra de la Cruz

With Medical Clinics

In both May and August, TETM sent teams to La Barra de la Cruz, a small town on the Pacific coast of southern Oaxaca, Mexico. Currently, town leaders welcome our medical clinics but strictly forbid overt gospel activity.  Baseball clinics have successfully served to establish friendships with leading men who now welcome us to the town.  However, persecution is likely as we are repeatedly reminded – “We want your medicines, but we don’t want your religion.”  Pray that we will have courage and boldness in the gospel.  We expect that God will open doors for the Name of Christ in La Barra through these hardships.

 The Coicoyan Indians

Of Oaxaca Mexico

The Coicoyan live in the high mountains bordering the states of Oaxaca and Guerrero, Mexico.

The Coicoyan are a resistant, sometimes hostile tribe.  And initially, we were not well received by the people.  Three years ago, TETM officially adopted the Coicoyan.  This includes a long-term commitment to get Christ proclaimed and a church established among them.

It has been incredible to see the progress made through our recent medical and dental clinics.  This year, a leader from the Coicoyan village of El Jicaral requested that TETM send a married couple to live among them and teach them English.  The villagers would then teach our family the Mixteco language.  Another unexpected opportunity came when a different Coicoyan village sent two representatives asking us to visit them with a medical clinic.  Pray for our TETM church planting teams that are making preparations to return to Coicoyan in April.

To Every Tribe Ministries

Personnel Opportunities

To Every Tribe Ministries (TETM) is rapidly expanding.  We presently have more targets for the gospel and more people to be trained as cross-cultural church planters than we can responsibly handle.

We need several families / singles to join our stateside team here on the Texas / Mexico border (not a salaried position – Must raise own support) whose function will be to build a solid, state-side ministry infrastructure which can support the cross-cultural church planting teams that we will be sending out soon.

We also need fluent Spanish speakers and experienced church planters that will enable us to more quickly deploy missionary teams to the unreached areas of interior Mexico and Papua New Guinea.

TETM’s Center For Pioneer Church Planting (CPCP) begins a new session of missionary training every January.  Come be trained to reach the Coicoyan or other unreached people groups in Mexico or Papua New Guinea!  Check out the web site for more details.

Jesus had it right!  Luke 10:1-3 - So many ripe regions - So few workers!
